Ken Stewart teaches Spanish IV and AP Spanish Language at Chapel Hill High School in North Carolina. He studied in Seville and Salamanca, and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, with degrees in International Studies and Spanish. Ken is currently a member of the AP Spanish Test Development Committee, and has been an AP Reader, Table Leader, and College Board consultant for 15 years; in addition, he’s conducted over 70 AP workshops and Summer Institutes. Recently, the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) named Ken the National Foreign Language Teacher of the Year for 2006.
John McMullan
John McMullan, having retired after thirty years at The Hotchkiss School, is now an instructor in Spanish language and literature at The Millbrook School in Millbrook, NY. He has taught both the AP Language and AP Literature courses for decades. In addition, he has worked as a teacher trainer with Educational Testing Service for over twenty years in the correction of the oral portion of the Spanish AP Exam. He has been involved in writing syllabi and guides for the College Board. In addition, he has co-authored text books for McGraw-Hill and McDougal-Littell and is co-author of Triangulo: A Proposito, a highly successful preparation book for the AP Spanish language exam. He has given many workshops on AP Spanish materials.
Maria Vazquez
Maria Vazquez has been teaching AP Spanish Language since 1981 at Millburn High School in New Jersey. She studied in Madrid and Salamanca, and is a graduate of Seton Hall University, with degrees in Spanish and Secondary Education. Maria has been an AP Reader, Table Leader, Question Leader, and currently is the Exam Leader for AP Spanish Language. She has conducted over 100 Pre-AP and AP Spanish Language workshops, and Summer Institutes. Maria also received the Advanced Placement Recognition Award from the Middle States Regional office.
Laura Zinke
Laura Zinke is a Gifted-Endorsed teacher in her native Arizona, and has been an AP Spanish teacher since 1987. With a Bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University and a Master’s from Middlebury College, Laura has served as an AP Reader since 1993, and has been a Table Leader for the past eight years. Laura is a member of the AP Spanish Test Development Committee, and, since 1994, she’s been an Advanced Placement Faculty Consultant, presenting at weekend workshops and Summer Institutes, as well as at various regional and national foreign-language and AP conferences. Laura was a Fulbright Teacher Exchange participant in Cordoba, Argentina.
